Schools
We offer routes for schools (always to be arranged beforehand). The scenic rice route brings kids the opportunity to learn about rice and its history whilst enjoying a train ride.
Travelling in the train will be an amusing way for the children to learn about rice as a cereal, how we use it and its nutritional value as a food. They will also have the opportunity to discover the entire process of rice production, from the planting of the paddies to the harvesting of the grain, to its arrival as food on your plate. This route will take the students to el Molí de Pals, one of the most enigmatic mills of our region. During the visit to the mill a guide will inform them about the different varieties of rice processed at el molí and their final use.
Considering that Pals’s rice paddies are a characteristic natural resource, we believe that it’s a great way to enrich their knowledge and have a great time.
The routes have been planned for primary school kids. Even though we have pre designed routes we are open to suggestions, depending on the school’s needs.
We will provide the school with a copy of the talk that will be given during the route so the teacher can use the information in a more practical way for teaching. Therefore we are not only offering you the chance to enjoy a beautiful trip around the rice paddies but also an opportunity to learn about one the most exciting cereals in the world.
The duration of the trip will approximately be 1 hour and 30 minutes.
The maximum number of students that can be taken on the trip is 52 plus a place for a physically disabled child.
