Route Medieval Villages
This route offers us to know, from the train, the small medieval towns that make up a network of idyllic landscapes where you can get lost all year round.
We leave the old quarter of Pals, where the train stop is located. The journey that takes us to the municipality of Palau-Sator, lasts about 15 minutes. Here we make a stop to make a small visit on foot through the streets and corners of the village and also enjoy the views from the top of the Tower of Hours. In this place, which preserves intact the personality of the most traditional region, only the big clock reminds you that time has not stopped.
The Xiulet will wait for us on the other side of the city, to continue this trip in time to make another stop in Fontclara. This municipality is located in the northeast of this set of villages. We find very interesting elements, such as the Romanesque church of the eleventh century, the drinking fountain, the Hause of the Prior or the monastery of Sant Pau. We will make a small tour on foot and we can visit the interior of the church and enjoy the paintings that are there.
After, we will take the train to return to Pals. This trip takes about 15 minutes approximately and will allow us to see part of some rice fields that are along the way and some farmhouses that will bring us to the heart of the village of Pals.
